So here are my top 5 products of 2011!
Lets just get right into it:)

Number 5

Maybelline volume express turbo boost mascara
Oh my goodness. This mascara is absolutely amazing. I feel like it isnt a mascara that is commonly talked about but personally I loved it! I love how it is pretty dramatic but it can also be subtle and natural. I wore it to events where I wasnt supposed to be wearing any makeup and no one noticed so it is a very natural looking mascara. On the other hand if you increase the number of coats you put on, it can be very dramatic. My friend commented,asking if I was wearing clear mascara where as another friend of my said it was really dark and dramatic when she tried it out for herself. So I absolutely love-love-love adooore this product.

Number 4

Gucci Guilty perfume
This isnt really a makeup product but I have loved it! I have started wearing this perfume a couple of months ago and I got comments asking what perfume I wore. I love the scent. I am pretty bad at describing scents so i say you check it out in your local perfumery (is that a word? I hope so..).

StrictlyComeDancing Makeup Palette
Okay, I am going to get laughed at for this. I know it isnt really a "proper" brand but is a holiday product type thing. I got it in Boots last Christmas and I also saw it on sale this Christmas. I didnt expect much from it as you know..it isnt really a proper makeup brand. But I thought the packaging was cute so I got it. I was SOOOO surprised. I find myself reaching for it sooooo much. I havent used the lipstick a lot but that is simply because I am not a fan of potted lip products for some reason. I prefer tubes:) Anyway I cant give much of a comment on the lip products but the eyeshadows in that palette are AMAZING. They are sooo absolutely pigmented and I managed to come up with so many looks. I have used it for both neutral/everyday looks and also dramatic colourful "im off to a new year's party" type looks. I also love the shimmer palette. I have been using it for highlighting soo much. If you live in the UK and you see it in Boots then I really do advise you try it out!

Maybelline ColorSensational lipstick in Pink Punch(175)

First of all: this is the EXACT dupe for MAC's Girl About Town. I have been looking for a lipstick for a pair of shoes I had so I headed for MAC as I knew they will have a huge color selection. So I swatched Girl About Town and I was about to buy when at the last moment I decided to have a look in Boots for a cheaper alternative. Omg! When I swatched it I forgot which one is which and I could not tell! This is such a beautiful bright colour and I feel that although it is such a bright dramatic colour, most people can pull it off.

Number 1!!

MAC Skinfinish Natural in Medium

Omg. Thats all I can say. I tried it in the summer of 2011 and I fell in love with it. I actually apply it with a blusher blush. I tried powder brushes but I actually prefer the coverage I get with a blush brush which is kinda weird:) But it the autumn I was sooo broken out and I spoke to a cosmetologist and her advise on makeup and coverage was that I use a good powder rather thatn foundation or concealer. I was soo shocked cuz I thought that powder is gonna give me no coverage but when I tried the MAC msf it was like..the best face ever:) I really really really advise you try it!

Neutral Eye look;L'oreal Essential Colors Palette

Hey guys! So today I did a make-up look using L'oreal Essential Colors Palette. I got this palette a while back but I have seen it not that long ago on sale so I'm pretty sure you can still get it. This is by far one of my favourite palettes! I love the colors as they show up beautifully on the eyes. I would completely recommend this palette. Here is a picture of it. (i took this one from Google Images because one of the blushes in mine got slightly damaged;)

The eyeshadows look different from the one I have in my palette so here is a picture of my palette (again, excuse the whole no blush problem. I had to depot the blush as it fell out)

So here is the eyelook.

Lid: Beige colour (second from top)

Crease: Pink colour (middle) - this is a beauutiful colors. It really is one of those pinks that look really pretty on the eye, not just like your eyes are irritated.

Deeped crease and lower lash line - Chocolate brown (like MAC's Handwritten but has a tiny-tiny bit of shimmer)

Inner corner - white (fourth down)

Highlight - Beige (second down)

ModelsOwn Nail polishes - Review!

Here is a review on Model's Own nail polishes.
When it comes to nail polishes I find that I get really lazy applying them. Base coat. Dry. First coat. Dry. Second coat. Dry. Sometimes even a third coat..
It just takes too long.

I saw the Models Own nail polish in my local drugstore and I only got it because I liked the shade and the price was affordable.

When I tried it at home I found that I only needed to apply one coat of this nail polish for my nails to look colourful and opaque. You should have seen my eyes. I soon rushed to the drugstore to get a few more shades.

I have to say that the shades on the Model's Own website don't look quite the same as the actual nail polish colours so if you have that opportunity I would stick to going to the drugstore rather than ordering online to make sure it is the colour you want. (the images in this post are much closer to the colour of the nail polish)

So here are the shades I have already purchased.

Feeling Blue
Beautiful true blue. I have already used quarter of the bottle up in the summer and I still love-love-love this colour.

Coral Reef
In the summer I was looking for a red nail polish that wouldn't look too heavy. So here is the colour I went for. It is a coral rather than a red (hence the name "CORAL reef") but again a gorgeous summery colour.

Next three are the pastel shades I own and I think there is a set you can get with them but Im not too sure.

Pastel Pink
B-EA-U-T-I-F-U-L baby pink. I loved Model's Own pastel pink. I was forever searching for a pastel nail polish that came out opaque and this is the one for sure.

Lemon Meringue
This nail polish is the cutest pastel yellow you will find (and how sweet is the name?!). I am not a big fan of yellow nail polish but I found this is a sweet shade and looks great on fair skin tones.

Lilac Dream
This is, obviously, a lilac colour. Again a beautiful colour that comes out perfectly opaque with one swipe:)

Three-in-one: Base coat, top coat and gloss.
I have already used tons of this up doing my nails. I love the brushes on the nail polishes as they are larger than some other companies' ones. The only difficulty I found with this 3-in-1 is that there is a chance of putting slightly too much on and the nail colour denting and becoming uneven. But overall it is a great product for the price.

*Tip: I found that Models Own nail polishes are perfect as a base for other more opaque polishes. I have a few polishes that were given to me as presents (such as Jordana polishes) that are very opaque and did not work very well by themselves. I loved their colours in the bottle so I jsut applied a coat of Models Own nail polish in a roughly same shade underneath and ended up with the colour in the Jordana bottle on my nail. Opaque. Yey!:)

There is such a range of nail polishes to try as Models Own constantly comes out with new collections so I will be definitely purchasing more shades from Models Own and I recommend you try this product.

I was soo confused on what to do my first post on so I decided to do a 40 questions beauty tag. This way you can kinda find out a bit more about me. So bring on the taag!

1. How many times do you wash your face a day?
Twice. Once in the morning+before I go to bed!

2.What skin type do you have?
I have combination skin as in oily in the T-zone but comfortable in the cheeks.

3.What is your current facial wash?
I am using the Clinique mild liquid facial soap. I just got it. I used to use the Body Shop's tea tree oil foam cleanser for a few years but I decided to switch it up and see what happens.

4.Do you exfoliate? Face\Body?
I exfoliate my face with the clarifying lotion by Clinique that ties in with the cleanser every day + I use a scrub once a week.
Body-wise, I don't use a scrub but I use a cloth.

5. Brand of exfoilater?
Clinique clarifying lotion and Neutrogena deep clean invirogating scrub.

6.What moisturizer do you use?
Oh my God..I really don't know what to say because my Nivea Daily essentials light moisturizing day cream just finished. I really want to try the Clinique dramatically different gel but the shop didnt have any. So im kind of using a random moisturiser from Body Shop I found. It is doing the job but Im not sticking with it.

7. Do you have freckles?
Nope, I do not.

8. Do you use eye cream?
No, i dont.

9.Did you or do you have acne prone skin?
I do. Unfortunately:) I do have mild acne so I do break out once a month and then spend ages clearing my face up but oh well, I gotta live with it.

10.Did you ever have to use Proactiv?
I didn't. I know it works for a lot of people but the adverts are too unbelievable for me to try it.

11.What foundation?
I don't wear liquid foundation. I love my M•A•C skinfinish natural (the powder). I found that liquid foundation doesn't work very well for me as I have oily skin so I prefer the msf+concealer.

12.What concealer?
Bourjois healthy mix. Good stuff:)

13.Do you know your undertone colour?
I am quite fair but I do have a yellow undertone. Keeping that in mind I have light blue eyes so I am not really the classical brunetty complexion.

14.What do you think of fake lashes?
Emm...kinda emmbarassing to say but I never tried them. I will though after this. I promise I will:)

15.Did you know you are meant to throw out your mascara every three months?
Yes. Yes I do. And I normally more or less finish my mascara in three months anyway.

16.What type of mascara do you use?
I love-love-love Maybelline mascara. I loved the Great Lash and the Volume Express. The DiorShow mascara is also amazing. Pricey, but worth it.

17. Sephora or MAC?
Well, I live in Britain so I guess it is between Boots and MAC? I don't own too much stuff from MAC but I definitely looooooove it so I will go with MAC.

18. Do you have a MAC pro card?
No, I dont.

19.What tools do you use when applying makeup?
Mostly makeup brushes. But sometimes you find your fingers are the best tool:)

20.Do you use any makeup primers?
Urban Decay primer potion for eyes and dont really use one for my face. Though I am lazy sometimes, have to admit it, don't I?:)

21.What is your favourite eyeshadow?
Goodness. That is a really hard one! I do love MAC's rule and MAC's Atlantic Blue..Gorgeous colours but there are many many others.

22.Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Pencil. Definitely. I hardly use liquid or gel for some reason (well, you never know, I might just get one tomorrow and it will turn into my next fave thing)

23.What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
They are soo much messier to work with for sure and there is fall out but I found the colours are just that little bit brighter. I like the effect but they are harder to work with.

24.Do you use mineral makeup?
I adore my msf but I don't realyl see a difference between mineralized makeup and normal..

25.What is your favourite lipstick?
Easy - Maybelline's colorsensational in Pink Punch (175). It isn't for everyday but is definitely a beautiful colour!

26. What about lipgloss?
That one is harder.. I love Maybelline's watershine lipglosses - Cutie Pie is a stunning pink.

27.What is your favourite blush to use?
MAC's Dessert Rose I would probably say/

28.Do you buy makeup on Ebay?
No, I never have.

29.Do you like drugstores?
Yes! I love drugstore mascara especially the Maybelline ones (I never actually realized I talk about Maybelline so much:) but you always find a lot of great products there.

30.Do you go to CCO?
I never been but I would love to go sometime!

31.Did you ever consider taking a makeup class?
Yes, I think that would be great but I never get round to it.

32.Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
I wouldn't say so most of the time. I find that sometimes makeup goes so wrong when I do other people's but most of the time I am pretty...(what is the opposite of clumsy?!)

33.Name a makeup crime that you hate.
Oh goodness. When older women go for the bright eye and the bold lip but then don't even bother with foundation. I think it is important to have your skin looking flawless before trying to follow any trend or create a bold makeup look.

34.Do you like colourful shades of makeup or neutral ones?
Mmm...it really depends. I love colours for parties and going out but for everyday I would rather stick to neutral shades:)

35.What celebrity always has great makeup on?
I love-love-love Taylor Swift's bold lips. She really makes them work. I also love Lucy Hale's makeup in Pretty Little Liars. One of my favourite tutorials to search on Youtube:)

36. If you could leave the house using just one makeup item what would it be?
If my skin isn't looking good I would go for concealer or my MAC skinfinish, but if the are no blemishes mascara for sure!

37.Could you ever leave the house with no makeup on?
Again if my skin is looking good then yeah,sure!

38.Do you think you look good without makeup on?
It is like the same question over and over again for me:) I find that my skin is everything so if my skin is fine then yes but if the are some blemishes on the horizon then I would rather stick to concealer.

39.In your opinion what is the best makeup line?
Well...I do LOVE MAC..but reading over my answers I guess Maybelline is definitely one of my faves.

I LOVE MAKEUP! It is soo much fun and it is definitely an art.
